The Tafsir of Ibn Kathir Volume 3 Surah 6: 1 - Surah 9: 129

This book contains the tafsir of the sixth through the ninth surahs of the Glorious Quran, the primary source of Islam. A comprehensive commentary must take into account the many aspects of diverse fields of knowledge. These include Arabic grammar and linguistics, jurisprudence, context, history, and others. It is perhaps superfluous to state that this requires universal knowledge. Ibn Kathir says in the introduction to his tafsir: "If someone asks for the best methods of tafsir, we would answer that the most correct method of explaining the Quran is by the Quran itself. What is mentioned in general terms in one place in the Quran is usually explained in another. If one does not find this easy, then one should look to the Sunnah, as its purpose is to explain the Quran and clarify its meaning.
